Previously, on August 12, 2024, Hang Trong Ward Police, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi received a report from Ms. Dang Thanh Ngan, born in 2003, residing in Hoa Ma, Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi City, about her property being robbed.

 

According to the victim's report, at around 11:45 a.m. on August 12, 2024, Ms. Ngan was wearing a blue leather handbag on her right shoulder, in the bag was a yellow iPhone 13 Promax 256Gb phone and some other personal items, driving a motorbike with license plate 29AA - 626.xx from Le Thai To to Bao Khanh Street.

When Ms. Ngan arrived in front of the door of 26 Bao Khanh, Hang Trong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, a male subject suddenly approached Ms. Ngan on the right side of the motorbike and snatched her handbag, causing Ms. Ngan to fall onto the street. After committing the crime, the subject increased the speed and fled in the direction of Hang Trong - Hang Gai.

 

After that, Ms. Ngan went to Hang Trong Ward Police to report the incident. According to the report, Ms. Ngan remembered some characteristics: the subject was riding a Honda Wave motorbike, with an unknown license plate, wearing a blue shirt with the word Grab printed on it, black pants, a helmet, and a full-face mask...

 

Immediately after receiving Ms. Ngan's crime report, Hang Trong Ward Police reported to Hoan Kiem District Police to focus on investigating and arresting the subject.

 

The process of checking witnesses and cameras in the surrounding area determined that: at about 11:45 a.m. on August 12, 2024, a male subject, wearing a Grab shirt, a Grab helmet, driving a Honda Wave motorbike, purple in color, with license plate 29L1-336.68, moved from behind, approached Ms. Ngan's right side, held the gas pedal with his right hand, grabbed Ms. Ngan's right-hand bag with his left hand and fled the scene.

 

By professional measures, at about 3:40 p.m. on August 15, 2024, the Hoan Kiem District Police force arrested the subject Giap Dinh Duong, born in 1985, registered residence in village 15-16, Yen Son commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province and a Honda Wave motorbike, dark blue, with license plate number: 29L1-336.68 in the YesXanh flower garden area - Hanoi.

At the investigation agency, the subject Giap Dinh Duong confessed that at noon on August 12, 2024, he rode a motorbike around the old quarter to find people on the road who were careless with the aim of snatching their property. When going to the area of ​​the water puppet theater - Dinh Tien Hoang street - Hang Bac ward, Hoan Kiem district, Giap Dinh Duong saw Ms. Dang Thanh Ngan riding a motorbike alone, carrying a handbag, so he followed and committed the act.

 

During the process of having her bag snatched, Ms. Ngan held onto her bag but Giap Dinh Duong continued to use his left hand to grab it with great force and then accelerated away, causing Ms. Ngan to fall onto the road. Giap Dinh Duong sped away through Hang Trong, Hang Gai, Hang Ngang, Hang Dao, Tran Nhat Duat streets, turned onto Chuong Duong Bridge towards Long Bien District, Hanoi.
